Scotty Cameron Studio Select Fastback Mallet Putter Review
The Scotty Cameron Studio Select Fastback Mallet Putter was first implemented as an experimental prototype. It performed admirably well and had a winning season on the Tour. Now, it is mass produced as a mallet by the Studio Select category of putters. This is one of their most anticipated products. Scotty Cameron has improved the Fastback. Now it includes a shaft over the spud double bend setup. This is ideal for users who prefer a putter that is almost balanced face. This model has a half shaft offset. This feature gives the players a perfect look at address. It also provides an accurately balanced and comfortable feel while performing the putting stroke.
The Fastback has sleek look that might remind one of the Newport style head. It also has the milled line of sight useful for alignment. But, the feature that sets the Fastback apart is the unique rounded flange which Scotty designed with care. This feature defines the Fastback.
The Fastback putter has the similar head weight as other models of the same family. However, the Fastback does have marginally thicker top line. The model continues in the same line as the highly advanced and technologically superior line that is Studio Select. Scotty has designed all of the putters in this line with extreme care and the aesthetics of the design is for everyone to see. It has bold Cherry Dot graphics. These graphics were mostly Tour inspired. It has a stainless steel head carefully and precisely milled. It also has factory produced inter changeable weights.
The Scotty Cameron’s Custom Shop changes sole weights. The putter can be customized to a player’s preference. Weights are changed relative to the putter length and the desired and comfortable head weight. The sole weights for the Fastback are different from the other Studio Select models due to the difference in the putter’s profile.
